Studio One didn't exist as a commercial product until 2009, so they have to address their CORE market first, otherwise why should anyone care to buy the product over others that already have the features developed? The packaging may not be great, but the features are there and work well. Yes, Sequoia has S/D Editing, but once you get past the interface you actually see that MAGIX had all of the basics developed for music production 10-15 years ago for Samplitude. It's actually not a trivial feature to implement, and Studio One already has 1-2 decades worth of backlogged catch-up features to implement for producers. I cannot see much reason why they'd sit on Studio One/Cubase/SONAR/whatever and ask for it year over year. Honestly, anyone who does work in this area almost certainly already owns Sequoia or Pyramix. People who need this feature need to pay for the products with them.
